The frame of the bed is made from Solid Cherry and the panels are Fiddleback Maple Veneer (this is a highly figured cut of Maple). The post on the headboard are bent in two directions using a process call laminate bending. This is were you take thin boards and clamp them to a form and when the glue dries it holds to the shape of the form. The panels in the headboard are also bent to follow the curve in the posts.
