Update #1 Cutting out the pieces

Early stages are slow but it should start to come together now that I have found most of the pieces. I was able to find a really nice claro walnut for the headrest and still hunting for the wood for the arms.

  • Hey Eric,
Things are progressing nicely and I should have the rockers glued up after next weekend. I have not forgotten about the footrest and I may be able to include it with the chair before september if things continue to go well. Backrests coming into shape. Nice curl in these.

Update #3 More progress photos

Almost there! the next set of photos will probably the finished product. As you can see, it has been sanded but to only 120 grit. The figure will start to come out more at 220 and 320 grit and then the oil will really make it pop. I should have the rockers shaped by tomorrow.
