Update #1 Heartbeat Desk w/Lorenz
As I mentioned on my bio, I'm a promoter of the DIY (do-it-yourself) ethic. When I offered Lorenz a chance to help build his own desk, he jumped at the opportunity. I had him choose out all his own lumber - quite the experience is how he described it. Given the raw wood look he was going for, choosing out the wood gave him a lot of ownership of the design. He delivered the wood to my shop and then met me the following morning to start getting his hands dirty and learning a bit about the process of furniture making.

Update #2 Heartbeat Desk w/Lorenz
I believe Lorenz decided to name the table the Heartbeat Desk as it will serve as a work station for his company - Heartbeat.
After milling the boards, we glued it all up. These photos were taken the following morning. A nice sight to see.

Update #3 Heartbeat Desk w/Lorenz
Day 2's work consisted of building the legs that would support this massively heavy top. Luckily, Lorenz chose out massively heavy legs.

Update #4 Heartbeat Desk w/Lorenz
Now to transport the desk and assemble in his apartment. Lorenz's friend gave him a hand with his handy dandy "shop truck."
