Thank you for the note. I think I understand what you are looking for, but if you could do a quick sketch, it would be helpful and we could then chat about it as well. Another thought could be instead of a groove on each side of the board, would an opening through the board work as well. I have attached a picture of a board I did a bit ago with an opening for you to consider. It's on a slant but could be put anywhere on the board you would like.
The August 15 delivery may be a little difficult, but if we can finalize the design today or tomorrow, I may be able to make it. I won't have any problem making the september 3 date. I will be working all weekend in the shop and many nights next week, but have a few projects to get done that have been previously ordered. If they go well, I may be able to get it to you by the 15th. I certainly will give it my best shot.

Hi Erica,
I have the board about done and I have attached a photo of it for you. I have a few coats of butcher block oil on it and want to add a couple more coats to it. I should have it ready to be shipped middle to later this week. I hope you like it. It was fun to build.
