This cherry bookshelf is constructed with handcut dovetails at the case edges and arrowhead tenons at the shelves. Along with the joinery, visual interest is created by careful placement of the shelves, hopefully evoking a Mondrian composition while still being useful for storage. This effect could easily be applied to a much larger wall unit.
Finished with a hand-rubbed oil/urethane blend.
