This root system has a very intricate grouping of smaller roots which give the table a busy, full look. Coastal red cedar grows on island limestone rock, which means the roots all extend outward following the path of least resistance. Because the trees are shallow rooted, they are blown over in heavy winds and exposed to the elements for years. This table was sandblasted & left in its natural raw state.
