This wonderful piece was a gift to my father and now sits in his large living room between two sitting chairs. Its main construction is a turned cherry pedestal with housed dovetailed legs beneath a poplar drum. This drum is toped with a flame crotched madrone arranged in a sunburst pattern. The … main inspiration comes from popular Federal Period pieces, but the curly maple feet give it a contemporary feel and bring it into the 21st century.

This piece has a traditional french polished top with multiple hundreds of coats of shellac rubbed down with pumice and rotten stone. The entire piece is then coated with a thin coat of wax to aid in repelling moisture.
