Engraved Wooden Sword And Sheath
I had always wanted to build and create a wooden knife, but I had a friend who loved swords. So it it began with an idea, and quickly transformed into the final product. The blade itself can be any size in length, this one was 40 inches and incorporated three beautiful hardwoods. Maple, Wenge, and Hickory form the 1/4" blade. It has been shaped to the form of a real blade, and special joints were created to hold true to its form. The blade was then set in a solid maple handle, with a specialty rose engraved hand guard. The rose is on both sides and the guard itself is cut to look like a rose. The sheath is Walnut, with an oak tip. The owners middle name of this sword, was Rose, hence the rose hand guard as well as the engraved rose on the sheath following her name. It was truly a custom build for a very special person.
