Barbara Barran, Classic Rug Collection's owner and head designer, worked on this residential project with Vera Bahou of Designhaus Interiors of Holland, PA. This gracious home has many custom features: hand painted and stencilled walls, custom iron work, custom coordinating entry door. Barbara … worked with Vera to create a suite of rugs that would flow from one area to another.

The stair runner motif picks up its color from the walls and the design from the grillwork. Barbara chose a 100 knot hand-knotted rug for the stairs, as this weave is extremely durable and flat. In other areas, she used 80 knot rugs to keep the price point down, and in the breakfast area, Barbara chose a banana silk flat-weave, for its casual elegance, made of 100% Tibetan wool.

The designs flow beautifully as guests enter the house and move from one space to another.
