Flat Out Harley Flat Tracker Metal Sculpture
CustomMade by Josh Welton
"Flat Out" is a piece inspired by flat track racing. The bike is a '69 Harley Davidson KR750, like the one Mert Lawwill rode to the AMA's Grand National Championship in 1969. I tried to capture the sense of chaos the riders harness when they pitch their bikes sideways into the corner near triple
… digit speeds.
It may look refined, but it's still made from recycled steel. Old pipe, nuts, bolts, allen wrenches, ball bearings, and a pushrod out of an old Mopar are just a few of the "upcycled" pieces.
This piece was tig welded together, then cleaned and clear coated for a lasting look. It's about 9" long, 4 1/2" tall, and 5" wide.
