This is a design thought up by Gayle Steves, the editor of Home Magazine in 1994. She called me to do a special editorial feature of an installation in a fishing lodge in the Catskills. It turned out great and then she called with the thought that i could sculpt the ends to make it into a fly-rod rack with free editorial publicity in the December issue. Sure enough! I sold 18 of these, painted and shipped all over the country for $225 each.
