This beautiful home kitchen is in traditional french country styling; the kitchen cabinets at right is a french 3-door hutch top to furniturize just a bit at 'the core'. All around are subtle french curves in just the right locations. The door & drawer fronts are in a 'Old European' style with … flat panels that we made a bit under-stated. Note: ( to many, door & drawer fronts are usually over-stated, becoming to rich & over powering). When reviewing doors up-close the real details of craftmanship is out-standing! With a closer look, the full-overlay panels all surrounded by 1/8" reveals consistantly at all vertical & horizontal plans, including @ pilasters/ crown/ soffits/ toe-kick bottom trim! This presents a very clean, craftmanshp effect! To deformalize & reshape the kitchen island we changed the drawer front to a curvy french provencal styling. Refer / freezer doors-drawers at left, is totally intergraded & hidden with the same 1/8" reveals, outstanding only is the iron forged handles. The wood: Knotty Pine, the finish, vanilla stain with chocolate glaze & white enamel, to look as if the kitchen cabinets were refinished, along with mild distressing & worn edges & a matte sheen varnish top-coat. Altogether gives the finish a refreshed, but timeless & antique look. (The finish is the single most important aspect in the kitchen). The custom range hood is the 'focal point in this interior space. The metal is brushed copper with a french curve, centered is a lasor imbedded-stone art, topped with an eclectic extra large crown in cherry wood & stain. The mantel is poured limestone in grape vine motif & contrasting large corbles. Nitch is tumbled marble & slate. A close look at the granite work; the main sink is custom made & lined with S.S. with full-wrapped granite sides & an intergrated corner plant shelf. All perimeter granite counter-tops area non-standard 2 !/4" thick nosing table edge detail & the island granite is a full 3 thicknesses with a natural broken-edge to bring inside 'a little bit of outside', also to deformalize, (less is usually better). The hardwood flooring: Hickory with knots & dark-lite color mix. All hand hewn surface, natural honey stain & a matte sheen top-coat. Custom pot & pan rack hangs over island, hand forged iron mofit custom made to fit & scale to the island correctly. This kitchen is a great wood, metal & stone classic!
