This giant "G" was part of a restaurant I designed and built . They needed something interesting on the wall separating the the lounge and dining area .The "G" appears to be made of solid pine but actually has a hollow chamber in back in which I installed lighting .It stands an inch off the wall … and at night appears to be floating on a cushion of amber light .The same effect can be achieved with any shape or logo. It also works great for headboards for kids.
( Ex: Floating back lit planet for a boy , or a gentle glowing butterfly for a girl . )
Use your imagination . The possibilities are endless.
