Natural Cherry Sofa Frame

"This sofa is indicative of my design aesthetic: simple, solid, and functional. It was commissioned by a couple who were very specific about what they wanted but could not find it as a production piece. We arrived at the final design through a very interactive design process including a full-scale mock-up made out of poplar. Construction is solid cherry; the joinery is mortise and tenon throughout; and the finish is multiple coats of tung oil and wax. To complete the set there is a matching chair and ottoman."
