Solid Oak Round Table
"The 6 foot diameter solid oak round table with accompanying ball-bearing lazy susan has a solid oak turned pedestal 17 inches in diameter, and a pyramidal base weighing 80 pounds. The table, with 3 inch apron, is attached to the pedestal by means of a solid 2 inch thick block tenoned onto the pedestal top, and having two 2 inch thick and 48 inch long tapered bearers that are in turn slot-screwed to allow for seasonal movement, to the underside of the top. The pedestal base, turned ball, and table block are fastened together with a 5/8 all-thread using bearing washers and hex nuts top and bottom. The table is stained and sealed with shellac, and then lacquered with 8 coats of semi-gloss acrylic lacquer, rubbed out and waxed with restoration quality English brown antique wax, and then hand buffed."
