This is the story behind the piece. The inspiration for it, what it’s made of and how it was created. It’s just the artisan’s way of showing you the level of care and detail that goes into what they create. And our way of reassuring you that for one-of-a-kind creations, you’ve come to the right place. So get to know the offerings and when you’re ready, contact the artisans directly. And do us a favor, let them know you found them on CustomMade.com

Showcase Cabinet, Ambrosia Maple, Cherry, Pecan, American Beech, Poplar, Walnut Pulls, Shellac Polish, with Brass Hardware *** This is a smallish showcase, only 44 inches tall, allowing fine items to be placed on the top, as well as inside. The wide curved glass doors allow excellent visibility of the contents. The shellac polish finish has an exquisite texture and accents the natural beauty of the wood, most of which was salvaged from trees blown down in Hurricane Isabel and milled into lumber at my Virginia workshop. The richly carved walnut pulls on the doors are a joy to the touch. As with all my work, the back of this cabinet is finished as well as the front, making it nice to use as a partial room divider where all sides can be seen .... and touched! *** I enjoy the challenge of designing and building new furniture. The custom design process is a wonderful and fulfilling collaboration between maker and client. After discussing the project, and if possible visiting the home or business where the piece will reside (or, if distance is prohibitive, reviewing photographs of the new home for the piece), I provide a selection of computer drawn 3-dimensional renderings of what the piece might look like so we can all visualize it. This begins the iterative give and take design process, resulting in delivery of just the right piece of furniture! Let me work with you to design and build the perfect custom showcase for your home or business! *** Juried Virginia Professional Artisan: Artisans Center of Virginia, Juried Member: Rappahannock Art League, Member: The Furniture Society
