This is the story behind the piece. The inspiration for it, what it’s made of and how it was created. It’s just the artisan’s way of showing you the level of care and detail that goes into what they create. And our way of reassuring you that for one-of-a-kind creations, you’ve come to the right place. So get to know the offerings and when you’re ready, contact the artisans directly. And do us a favor, let them know you found them on CustomMade.com

Side Table, Red and White Oak, Cherry, and Walnut; Shellac Polish *** This delicate table features three finely fit hand dovetailed drawers with shaped walnut pulls and drawer bottoms mimicking the white oak of the table top field. The tapered cherry legs are strengthened by a bent laminated white oak stretcher lattice. The case surrounding the drawers is made from a single piece of quarter sawn red oak with exquisite grain. It\\\'s as nice looking inside with the drawers removed as it is looking at the outside of the piece. The finish is shellac polish, creating a sensuous texture. The wood used in this piece was from salvaged trees, milled and dried at my Virginia workshop. This table won first place in the 44th Annual Art Exhibit of the Rappahannock Art League and was featured in Fine Woodworking magazine\\\'s Reader\\\'s Gallery. *** I enjoy the challenge of designing and building new pieces. The custom design process is a wonderful and fulfilling collaboration between myself and my clients. After discussing the project, and if possible visiting the home or business where the piece will reside (or, if distance is prohibitive, reviewing photographs of the new home for the piece), I provide a selection of computer drawn 3-dimensional renderings of what the piece might look like so we can all visualize it. This begins the iterative give and take design process, resulting in delivery of just the right piece of furniture! Let me work with you to design and build the perfect custom table for your home or business! *** Juried Virginia Professional Artisan: Artisans Center of Virginia, Juried Member: Rappahannock Art League, Member: The Furniture Society
