Curly Grafted Black Walnut Classical Guitar, The back-and-sides of this guitar are made from a log of extremely-curly Black Walnut which contains a graft, resulting in a spectacular burl-like grain pattern. To produce a striking black-and-white effect, the 660mm-scale-length fretboard, the neck, heel & head block, and the bridge are Birdseye Maple, and the headplate and binding are Curly Maple. The soundboard is Master-grade Englemann Spruce. The peghead is inlaid by Craig Lavin Custom Inlays with my trademark “Modern Maui Girl” design, the guitar is fitted with Gitarrenwerkstatt Knut Welsch “Free Wheel” brass tuning machines with Ebony buttons, and the heel has my signature Abalone heelcap. The inside of the soundboard is signed, dated and numbered (#16) by me. The guitar has a very strong and full tone, and is set up with a low action for fast Spanish-style playing.
