"Green" Classical Guitar of FSC-Certified Narra
The back-and-sides are Narra – a wood similar to Koa – which has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council that it was grown and harvested in (1) an environmentally responsible, (2) socially beneficial and (3) economically viable way. Similarly, the neck and peghead are FSC-Certified Mahogany. Soundboard materials are not presently FSC-Certified, so I used AAA-grade Cedar, and the 660mm-scale-length fretboard is Mesquite, “an invasive weed”. The bridge and headplate are Ohi’a Lehua, a non-endangered Hawaiian wood. The headplate inlay of a breaching Humpback Whale was done by Craig Lavin Custom Inlays. The guitar is fitted with black Gotoh tuning machines with Ebony buttons and the heel has my signature Abalone heelcap. The inside of the soundboard is signed, dated and numbered (#13) by me. The guitar has a very bright tone, as well as a strong bass, and is set up for Flamenco playing with a very low action.
