Boston Bombe' chest on chest, This reproduction Bombe’ chest on chest is based on one of only six known American Bombe’ chest on chests. One of the six just sold at Sotheby’s for 1.7 million dollars. My reproduction started with a single plank of mahogany 3”thick by 25”wide and 16’ long. The lower case sides were then shaped from the solid and the uppercase sides were re-sawn allowing the grain to flow from the lower case to the upper case. All of the drawer fronts originated from one large plank as well. All case and drawer dovetails are cut by hand and all carving was completed entirely by hand.
