Chippendale Style China Cabinet in Walnut

The Chatham Workshop Chatham, New Jersey

The design of this breakfront china cabinet is similar to some of those done by Chippendale, but modified for the customer. The exterior of the piece was made from several eastern walnut slabs that that were cut from the same tree. The door and drawer facings were fashoned from the crotch portion of the tree to give prominance to the wonderful figuering that is found in the grain. The upper case has three shelves and the lower case has one which allows for lots of storage and display space for fine china and glassware.
