Morris Chair Revised, This design is a curvaceous interpretation of a Morris chair from the Arts & Crafts era. Bent white oak slats provide a bridge between sensual curves and geometrical patterns. Traditional mortise and tenon joinery guarantee the longevity of the leg sections while the bottom and back sections disassemble for easy transportation. A full-scale model ensured that the chair would be comfortable, yet energizing. Sculpted from walnut many years ago, its color has aged to a rich golden brown. In general, dark woods will lighten and light woods will darken over time and exposure to light. This was made for myself, so I also produced a matching couch. [Walnut, White Oak, fabric]
