Caucasian Cypress Flamenco Guitar
The back-and-sides of this guitar are Master grade Cyprus from the Caucasian Mountains in Turkey. The design is based on a thin-bodied flamenco guitar by Antonio de Torres, is somewhat smaller and lighter than most modern flamenco guitars, and is closer in concept to 19th Century Spanish instruments. The soundboard is Master-grade Caucasian Spruce, and the 650mm-scale-length fretboard and the binding are Bloodwood. The bridge is Pink Ivory, and the neck, heel & head block are Spanish Cedar, which is traditional for Spanish flamenco guitars. The peghead faceplate is also Pink Ivory, and is inlaid by Craig Lavin Custom Inlays with my trademark “Sexy Modern Maui Girl” design. The guitar is fitted with Gotoh black tuning machines with Ebony buttons. The peghead uses my proprietary Rear String Slot design; the soundboard uses RainSong’s patented Projection Tuned™ BRACELESS “double soundboard” design licensed from them; and the heel has my signature Abalone heelcap. The inside of the soundboard is signed, dated and numbered (#17) by me. The guitar has a very strong and bright tone, and is set up with an extremely low action for traditional flamenco playing.
