"I designed this table based on an antique Turkish table that has been in my family for generations. It features a beautiful, thick black walnut top and legs that have been turned 45 degrees. This allowed me to attach turned columns to either side of them as well as to the center stile (for a total of 12). The aprons feature raised panels in the middle with inlaid circles of maple. The shelf on the bottom is surrounded by a hand cut fretwork border. The black walnut was not stained�it was hand rubbed with a mixture of oil and varnish to really show off the grain while providing protection against spills."
