Heart Pine Kitchen
Kent Cabinetry & Millwork, Inc.
Chestertown, Maryland
Long leaf yellow pine or commonly called heart pine has been used to build this kitchen. Heart pine was used extensively for running trim, flooring and detail moldings throughout the 19th century. This is recycled wood as the tree was wiped out in 1912 by a blight. This kitchen has beaded face frames and bracket feet for toe kicks. The doors are inset raised panels. The glass doors have old glass. The appliances have panels to help make them blend with the rest of the cabinetry and also for traditional look. Fluted styles are accented on the tall cabinets.
