Hand-plane cabinet on stand
-dimensions: h 66" w 36" d 13" -materials: reclaimed pine and antique hand plane -process: This piece is influenced by chinese and south asian design. In it have reinterpreted classic design elements with unusual materials and an unconventional vision. The reclaimed pine is stained red and the I cut the hand plane in half to use as handles.
I design and build furniture with both reclaimed lumber and unusual grades of wood. My pieces also have, as a focal point, antique tools, machine parts, and other scrapped objects. As a designer builder I follow various theories of the original English and European Arts and Crafts movements of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
