Even games deteriorate over time! Artisans of the Valley offers restoration services for antique games including chess sets. Shown is an 1849 Staunton Tournament Chess set by Jacques of London. This is an original set from the first signed limited edition of 300. Artisans of the Valley boasts to have on hand two of the last formally trained Master Craftsmen – Founder Stanley D. Saperstein and his son Eric M. Saperstein. Our work is museum quality including conservation of finish and structure, veneer, structure and parts, and carving replacement and restoration. We use traditional hand cut stains & finishes ensuring your treasures receive the appropriate attention.
