Custom Bed
John Russell of Russell Woodworks designed and built this unique bed for This Old House's Carlisle Project. It is built from White Oak for posts, Tamo Ash for headboard and Quilted Anigre for sides and foot board. It was finished by hand, using Danish Oil and wipe on poly. It was designed to be quickly and easily dismantled for convenient transportation and assembly. We were honored to be chosen by This Old House for this very unique custom bed project.
Our workshop is based in Guilford, Connecticut. We are a high end company with expertise in all aspects of furniture, cabinetry and millwork. We have won Historical Restorations Awards and our work has been seen nationwide on This Old House. We provide full design services and can also take a tree from raw to finished lumber.
