Carved headboard
The headboard is 86 inches wide, 66 inches high, and made of 2-inch thick genuine Honduras mahogany. The hand carved details were designed and executed by Pete Tomlinson in his studio. The carving is over 1 & inche deep and the herringbone design veneer was hand-laid by me. The finish is French Polish rubbed out and hand waxed with English restoration quality antique brown mahogany wax; then hand buffed. The complete headboard weighs over 150 pounds.
We build custom furniture and period reproductions, both French and English. Carving, veneering, and french polishing are done to the highest standards, using the best materials, (no contact cement or paper-back veneers are used, ever).
