![]() Rams Horn Display TableThis table was designed for The Gallery at Summerlin located in Las Vegas. Since the business is an art gallery, I was given a free hand in creating this piece. The selected wood was Quilted Maple because of its beautiful, shimmering grain patterns. The inspiration for the carving came from Nevada's Big Horn Sheep and adds a textural element to the project. The top and bottom grid are made of Chakte Kok which is also known as Bloodwood. Sculpture is displayed on the top while the drawers and grid are used for brochures and magazines. Over-all size of the table is 18" wide by 31" high and 60" long. To preserve the brilliant coloration of the wood, I chose clear shellac and wax for the finish.
