Myrtle Wood Rockers
This set of Myrtle wood rockers was commissioned for a couple in North Bend, Or, who wanted a memorial for their son. The head rests of both chairs have been laser engraved in this regard. The Hardwood chairs are custom, hand crafted from Myrtle wood with purple heart accents on the rocker skis and the plugs. the rocker on the right is inspired by the curves of the Coca Cola wave. The rocker on the left is called the Twist Rocker and is one of the more difficult rockers to make. It has criss cross back slats and turned barley twist front legs. The stretchers on the twist rocker are also hand turned opposite angle rope design. These chairs were designed with children in mind, in that one is permanently displayed in the children's wing of the North Bend Medical Center. For this reason they are very sturdy with a very hardy sprayed finish. The twist rocker ranges from $2500 to $4600, and the Cola Rocker sells for $2280. The price depends on the wood and the complexity of design.
