This one of a kind was constructed of salvaged old growth White Oak using ball and Socket joinery. In place it will be visible from many angles. The far end fits into a bookcase, and a staircase comes up behind it. Each of the backrest slats was individually fitted and shaped to create a smooth continuous flow that not only curves horizontally, but changes vertical slope as well. The bench seat is slightly carved. The oak has as many as 27 rings per inch, and excellent color. It was fumed slightly to bring out the grain, and has a natural oil finish.
