 Mackintosh High Back ChairThese beautiful high back chairs are inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh but have been given a more contemporary twist. Both chairs have the same basic design and construction which has been altered slightly in each to give a unique look. The chair on the left is made from solid Brazilian Cherry, an extremely hard, very attractive reddish brown wood. The back has an elegant ergonomic curve with a solid center slat and a squared top. The chair on the right is made from solid Hickory with Brazilian Cherry accents. This chair features curved aprons on the sides and back of the seat. The back has the same ergonomic curve as the previous chair however it has four Brazilian Cherry back slats and a curved top. Both chairs were traditionally hand finished with multiple coats of tung oil, shellac and wax. The stunning result is the true beauty of the wood, no dye or stain was used. As can be seen from the picture the design of this chair is very versatile and small changes easily create a new look and feel. The design is equally at home either in a formal dining setting or as a more casual side chair. The dimensions of the pictured chairs are 45" high at the back, 19" high to the seat, 18" across the front of the seat, 18" from front to back of the seat, and 12" across the back.. As with all of our pieces this item can be made in a variety of hardwoods and customized to whatever dimensions and finish you require.
