![]() Josephine chairI think of this piece as something one might find in the Paris dressing room of the '30's star Josephine Baker, who wowed French audiences with her unique mix of the sophisticated and the sauvage. The legs are mahogany, the body of the chair is veneered with zebrawood. It's wonderfully comfortable (and every bit as stable, with its' three legs, as a conventional chair.)
I love designing and building chairs. They present a challenge: they must be strong, pleasing to the eye from all angles, and comfortable as well. Over the last twenty-five years I have made dozens of different styles of chair: sinuous plywood laminations, Chinese Chippendale replicas, settees in the style of Greene and Greene: copy or custom; a single chair, or a dozen. Area Served: Northern and Southern California ![]() HOME |
