Four of these English Arts & Crafts style chairs were made to fill a set of existing chairs built in the early 1900‚s by the client's great grandfather. Much care was taken to accurately duplicate the inlaid lotus flower and rose motif on the chair back. Twelve different species of wood were used to create the marquetry design.\

In his Seattle workshop Don Sutkus crafts custom furniture inspired by the finest works of the past three centuries. Don is a graduate of the prestigious traditional furniture making program at the North Bennet Street School in Boston. When building furniture he relies on traditional methods of work and uses only time-tested joinery techinques. This approach gives his work a rich handmade character and ensures that it will last multiple generations.
