Guimard Inspired Art Nouveau Desk
CustomMade by William Doub
This desk was designed and built on speculation between 1979-1980, and was sold shortly thereafter. It is representative of the fluid style of the art nouveau period, and it demonstrates my continuous involvement with art nouveau over the length of my career. The desk is curved and hand-carved on
… all of it four sides, and the top is a unique parabolic shape. This nontraditional form was constructed with traditional techniques of solid cherry and walnut, with popular for interior drawer slides. Although it was inspired by the work of the art nouveau period designer Hector Guimard, it is not a reproduction of any of his work.
This desk and many other art nouveau selections may be viewed on our website.

Library Ladder in the Style of Napoleon III
by N Jul 31st 2012
Ever since you squeezed the Book Steps through the passage in a non-Euclidean post-physics miracle, I have been exuberantly playing with it. Its functionality is obvious but its aesthetic presence is overwhelming. Guests immediately are drawn to it and are transformed by it. Thank you so very, very much……….. Please keep in touch.
