This reproduction of a shaker side table was built entirely with hand tools in the spirit of the original artisans. The top is the show piece of this table - I milled the stock to highlight the natural rainbow colors from a single hand selected piece of cherry. The slender legs were hand … tapered, and joined to the aprons with mortises and tenons. The drawer is constructed of hand cut half-blind dovetails. The drawer front and dividers were cut from a single piece of cherry to ensure a perfect grain match. This piece exemplifies the superior quality of construction and joinery achieved through the use of hand planes, saws, and chisels.
