Hand Crafted Solid Pine Or Oak Memory Box For Those Precious Moments And Keepsakes
This hand crafted Pine (Shown in English Chestnut) or Oak (Shown in Early American) Memory Box© makes a wonderful gift for that special person or child in you life. These boxes were created to keep the important pictures, treasures and keepsakes in their life. Each Memory Box© is a one-of-a-kind piece because of slight variations in how each box is made as well as colorations and grain patterns. A stain finish brass engraved plaque option mounted on the inside or outside of the box is also available. When ordering the plaque, please include the text to be engraved and location on the box (inside or outside).
The Memory Box© is approximately 14" Long x 7" High x 6 ½"Wide. Internally the box is approximately 13" x 4 ½" High x 5 3/8" Wide. The lid is hand worked and sanded to fit snugly into the box. The bottom has tapered feet with felt pads to protect the surfaces it sits on and to protect the feet. An engraved plate can also be added for an additional price that is dependent upon the size and number of letters.
Each piece is made from ½ " thick Oak or Pine which has been fine sanded, stained, hand rubbed with 6-7 coats of Tung Oil. After each tung oil coat is applied and allowed to dry, the surfaces are hand buffed to bring out the beauty of the grain and colors of the wood on all the external and internal surfaces. Tung Oil is one of the most durable and attractive furniture finishes. It is used by furniture manufacturers, woodworking craftsmen and do-it-yourself hobbyists alike to finish fine wood furniture and shelving.
All of the solid wood pieces are compression glued and the corners of the box reinforced for maximum strength and durability. Prices are also available for other materials.
Pictures of the finished piece will be sent for approval prior to shipment. .
Grain patterns will vary because of the stock available. Please note the stain color and if an additional engraved plaque is requested when ordering the box.
Shipping and insurance costs are estimated for delivery to the West Coast. If less, a refund is provided when shipped.
