These striking and whimsical chairs have attracted more attention than any other work I've designed; I've been asked to make them in red, pink, and purple, most often for dressing rooms. The maple provides a calm background to the brilliant colors of the upholstery and paint, and its cool, smooth sheen contrasts to the soft nap of the velvet. The heart-shaped feet remind me of high heels.
