Every woodworker has heaps of wood to deal with. If you have a woodstove or fireplace it can become fuel, but alas, I live in the city and don't have one, so I enjoy finding alternate uses for my scrap. Each piece in this series is made from leftover parts of other projects, scrapwood, and parts … from furniture salvaged from the alley or dumpster. Each piece is treated like an individual sculptural composition, with function being an equal consideration in the overall concept. They are constructed very simply, with screws nails and glue stressing immediacy rather than pre-meditated design. This shelf was made from a variety of woods and hangs on a stud or wall anchors.
