Every woodworker has heaps of wood to deal with. If you have a woodstove or fireplace it can become fuel, but alas, I live in the city and don't have one. Each piece from the incidental series is made from leftover parts of other projects, scrapwood, parts from broken furniture salvaged from the … alley or dumpster. Each piece is treated like an individual sculptural composition, with function being an equal consideration in the overall concept. They are constructed very simply, with screws nails and glue stressing immediacy , like a sketch, rather than pre-meditated design. The surface of the wood on this piece is rough and unfinished to preserve the color.
