This is a non-functional box, within a box, within another box. It is made enitirely of sustainable, salvaged or recyled materials. The outer shell is walnut, with Indian Tamarind hinges and pulls. The next vessel is bamboo, with walnut hinges and latch, and the final vessel is redwood, with Indian Tamarind hinges and pull. The redwood door tilts forward, and comes to rest as a horizontal shelf.
Each of the vessels is turned from plywood that I made from individual layers of veneer.
It really is fun to open and close this box! The price is $4700.
