Japanese Garden
This landscape window, depicting a Japanese garden, is reminiscent of early 20th century American stained glass. At that time the likes of Louis Comfort Tiffany and John LaFarge brought about a revival of the medium with the invention of American art glass. Many of their techniques, especially the layering of glass, were employed in this window to create the illusion of atmospheric perspective in the distant mountains and the effect of reflections and shadows dancing across the water.
