I have a strong affection for old french furniture even though I think it's ugly sometimes. The imperial furniture of france had so much going on we still just take bits and pieces of it and are overwhelmed by it. A four way burl book and flip match, A border made from straight grain quarter sawn sawn veneer, all directing towards the center and per stringing and top it all off with a secret compartment. I would be happy to make another like this.
