This kitchen island was custom made to order, but I would be thrilled to make another based on this concept. The top of this particular island is made from 2 pieces of Chinese Tallow that are joined in the middle by a "river" of Walnut. The client, a professional musician, tells me that every visitor to their home stops and says "wow!" when they see this piece. Pricing shown is an estimate based on similar size, design and materials. Actual pricing will vary depending on these variables.

Some say that the kitchen is the heart of the home. Bob Card of Greenwood Bay created a stunning island that is the heart of our kitchen. It was so much fun to work with Bob every step of the way, from choosing the wood to selecting hardware, and we now have a one of a kind show-stopper specifically made for our space. Bob listened carefully to everything we wished the island to be and proceeded in a methodical and meticulous manner to create a work of art. Everyone seeing it for the first time stops in their tracks and says, "Wow." The island is a fun combination of practical and artistic - terrific storage in drawers/shelves underneath with a custom eco-friendly red paint, crowned with a flowing river of Chinese Tallow and Walnut, complete with a live edge which we felt saved the "soul" of the tree. We could not be happier with this artistic and unique addition to our home, and would highly recommend Bob for your special project.
