This custom kitchen was made from figured heart maple with a natural finish. Heart maple is a very warm color and is not as light as sap maple, the regular cut of maple. The figure in the wood makes the grain very interesting and beautiful. There are many details in the cabinets including: Bridge … over the window and the stove connecting the wall cabinets; the doors have an inlay of lacewood inside the frame, crown molding; elevated corner cabinet; sink cabinet is bumped out for additional interest and accommodate a large farm sink. The design included custom, wide and deep drawers for storing large items. The doors and drawers are all inset a feature found in many custom cabinets.
