La Marea Brava is Epic's first vanity sink designed in house. Using a fabric forming process we first build an armature and stretch fabric over it tightly, which produces incredible shapes and flowing curves. This vanity was built after reminiscing on time spent in Costa Rica, where I learned how … to surf and how to manipulate concrete. It was intended to resemble a heavy wave at its peak, just before it breaks. This was also an exercise in expanding what we do with and how we perceive concrete. The design possibilities are endless. Made with white portland cement, recycled glass and marble, and other high performance concrete additives. It is a dense surface that is highly resistant to acids and staining.
