  • Carmen S. of Johnson Braund contacted me back when Custom Made was still in its infancy. She was working on a hotel/spa renovation project in Austin, Texas and she was in need of 80 vanities that would fill the special need of the resort and nothing off the shelf would fit the bill. The resort was looking for a unique custom vanity and sink that was environmentally friendy, with a raw organic look and feel, in addition, they also had many functional requirements to meet. Although they were shopping around at some of our competitors, in the end we were a small enough business to offer the personal attention and custom options, but large enough to handle large commercial orders and deliver on time.   • It was also important to the client that we design something that was environmentally friendly which is the reason for the amount of reclaimed materials used throughout the pieces. Sustainable

  • After getting a basic overview of the clients wants and needs we set out to find the materials that would work perfectly in their environment. We ended up using a combination of concrete, wood, and steel and the finished product was just what they never knew they wanted. The wood we chose was a reclaimed wormy Oak that was recovered from fallen barns and repurposed for another life. Concrete Up Close

  • We also used a reclaimed gravel screen taken from local rock quarries, after their life expires at the quarry we repurpose them for decorative screening. Some of the photos show the screens with small rocks still in them, evidence of their former life. Gravel Screen

  • The steel legs and face frame are patinaed to a beautiful auburn rust color and will be 100% recyclable at the end of their current life. Our concrete has always been an environmentally friendly material that can be formed and honed with the raw look of no other material. Wood Up Close
