My inspiration for this piece was the numerous days and weeks I have enjoyed in our Northern Michigan swamps where a spring born brook may meander. The illuminated black spruce along with the full moon depict a concrete visual while the carved white cedar gives an abstract touch of a brook … bubbling over smooth river rock.

There are 3 panes of glass engraved on both sides and sealed as windows in a home.

The illumination of the engraving is created by fluorescent
lighting form within the mantel.
