To wake up in such a bed would be a dream even for royalty, though in this case the carver created it out of the love for his child. This original design by Boris is completely hand carved and turned out of mahogany measuring The design at the foot represents the evening star guarding over his … child at night, while at the head the rising sun lifts the child's intertwined initial YBK up to meet the crown atop the intricate baroque style design, obviously making this child the king of the family. The bed is completely functional as well with adjustable side rails and a base that can be raised or lowered as the child grows. This beautiful piece of furniture took over 180 hours to complete. The mahogany was stained and covered with clear lacquer.
